The app
EditCurve runs entirely on your Mac. Your projects and media never leave it. The app connects to the internet for three things only:
- Licence activation and checks — your licence key, a short anonymous identifier for this Mac and its computer name are sent to Lemon Squeezy to activate, validate or deactivate the key.
- Updates — the app checks our update feed for new versions (about once a day) and downloads updates you approve. No personal data is sent.
- AI Assistant (optional) — if you enter your own API key for an AI provider, the descriptions of your project (layer names, sizes, timings — never media files) are sent to that provider when you ask it to do something. This is off unless you set it up.
This website
- We count downloads per day, and aggregated page/API hits (path, day, and web vs app). For public page views and downloads we also map the request IP to a country and continent, add one to that region’s count, and discard the IP. We do not store addresses, cities, or GPS.
- Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They collect your email and payment details under their own privacy policy; we receive an order record and store your email only as a one-way hash, plus the last characters of your key, so we can help with support.
- The contact form stores what you send us and a hashed IP address for abuse prevention.
- We set no advertising or analytics cookies.
